Currently based in Cape Town, Ms Lebogang Mokwena is completing a PhD in Sociology at the New School for Social Research, New York. She has served on the Touwsrivier Solar Community Trust since 2017 and, in early 2018, became the Chairperson of the Trust. Mokwena has worked in policy research exploring participatory development planning at local government level and in the South African civil service. Her professional experience, coupled with Masters degrees in Development Studies and in Sociology, underpin her commitment to and action towards people-centred and sustainable development. 

Lebogang is a dedicated commuter cyclist and shares her cycling passion by teaching adults how to ride bicycles. 

Rudi Moses has been serving as Trustee since 2017 and is currently residing in Touwsrivier. He is currently working as a Bookkeeper for an engineering company called CTE. Mr Moses has a National Diploma in Financial Management and currently serves as a member of the board for both the Cricket and Rugby club.

As a committed role player within the community and very active member within the Cricket and Rugby club, Mr Moses has participated in sport since primary school and just love being part of the different sport codes within the town.

Ms Nokuthula Buthelezi-Maduna is an independent trustee appointed in 2018, by PIC to the Board. She was born and raised in Kwa-Zulu-Natal but now resides in Gauteng.

Ms Buthelezi-Maduna is a specialist in the SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality) management field. She possess a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) from the University of Natal and a Master’s degree in Business Leadership (UNISA) as her highest
qualification.

In her 19 years of work experience, Ms Buthelezi-Maduna has worked in various professional and managerial level positions in SHERQ for various companies in the Public Service, Mining, Project Management, Engineering, Construction and Logistics sectors. With this background, skills and experience, Ms Buthelezi-Maduna brings the much-needed risk management and general business management knowledge to the Board.

Ms Present was born, raised in Touwsrivier and is currently an energetic member of the Touwsrivier community. She was appointed to the Trust as one of two community-based trustees in 2017. 

Her commitment to her the development of her community has found expression, among other things, in the various leadership roles she has assumed in her community including being the Principal of Daisy Centre, one of the few early childhood development centres (ECDs) in the town which has been in existence for more than two decades. She also serves as a member and Chairperson of the Touwsrivier Health Committee and is the secretary for the Victim Support Unit of the Community Policing Forum. 

Maria holds a number of certificates including one in Financial Management from the University of South Africa and has participated in a range of capacity building initiatives offered by the Department of Health and the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA). Her motto is: "Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before the people, for who can govern these people of yours, who are great.
